Do you wish to get soft feet overnight? Here are 15 home remedies for getting rid of cracked heels overnight so that you wake up to soft feeling feet next day.

Feet are the most ignored part of the body in terms of self-care and also in terms of beauty care regime. Dry and cracked feet are the results of this ignorance towards taking care of your feet. Feet needs to taken care of the most because they are the part which is more exposed to dirt, bacteria, pollution and what not. We mostly just wash out feet and then apply just moisturizer to get soft feet overnight but that’s not enough because cleaning and moisturizing only helps when your feet are not much exposed to the dirt and pollution & are in a healthy condition. If you are suffering from dry feet or cracked heels then you must take extra special care of them. We don’t really realize the importance of soft and healthy feet until we experience how good it can feel to have the healthy & soft feet or until we experience any pain or need of immediate solution to treat cracked heels or dry feet.

 I am sharing a few home remedies to get rid of cracked heels and I am also sharing a few home remedies for soft feet to prevent them from getting dry.

 

1.  Lemon and Glycerine Mask

Mix equal amount of lemon juice and glycerine, store it in a transparent plastic bottle or glass bottle (avoid metal bottle or container).

Apply this pack every day after washing your feet and rinse with warm water after 30 minutes then apply moisturizer.

Lemon contains citric acid and it helps to deeply cleanse the feet skin and remove all dirt and dead skin and glycerine provides deep moisturizing effects and sooths the skin deep inside. Regular use of this mask will eventually make your feet feel softer and perfectly deep cleansed, free of any dead skin cells.

 

2.  Use of Vegetable Oil

Simply wash your feet with soap then pat them dry with clean towel, apply adequate amount of vegetable oil. Wear a pair of socks and leave it overnight. Remove socks and wash your feet next morning before roaming around the house. Do this every night until you achieve desired results.

Leaving the vegetable oil overnight on feet by covering them with socks will insure that feet skin can sip up the required moisture and get enough hydration. 

 

 3. Banana and Olive Oil Mask

Mash a ripe banana and add a tablespoonful olive oil and mix well then apply it to your washed and towel dried feet. Rinse with warm water after 20 to 30 minutes.

Banana and olive oil applied on feet overnight help restore the lost moisture of the skin of your feet.

 

4.  Vaseline / Petroleum Jelly and Lemon Juice

Mix half of a lemon juice with two tablespoon of Vaseline / Petroleum jelly and store in a small plastic or glass container. Wash your feet with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel and apply this mixture every day before going to bed to get soft feet free of cracked heels.

Vaseline helps to deep moisturise the skin, while lemon juice will help to get rid of any dead skin and roughness.

 

5. Paraffin Wax and Coconut Oil for Severally Cracked Heels

Melt 1 tablespoon of paraffin wax and add 4 drops of pure coconut oil in it and mix it. Wash your feet with warm water and properly rub to clean any clogged dirt in the heels, now apply this mixture and wear socks and keep it over night then wash off in the morning. Do this every week or every two weeks as per your convenience. This method will work even better if feet are soaked in warm water then rinse with similar temperature water then pat dry and apply the mixture but make sure the paraffin mixture is not too hot by a patch test.

Paraffin wax work as natural emollient and helps to soften your feet skin and treats the cracked heels very well.

 

6. Honey and Milk

Simply mix some raw honey and milk to a lotion consistency and apply over you clean washed with warm water and towel dried feet, then massage for 10-15 minutes or as much you want. Then rinse the honey with warm or cold water. Do it regularly for a week and you will see the amazing results.

Honey is considered as a natural antiseptic that can help to heal the cracked and dry heels; milk helps to clean the skin deeply and helps to hydrate the skin.

 

7.  Massage with Olive oil

Olive oil is one of the best home remedies for getting soft feet and repairing cracked heels.

Clean your feet and apply some olive oil and massage for good 10 to 15 minutes then whip off the excess oil and wear a pair of socks, keep it overnight and wash with warm water in the morning. Do this every day before doing to sleep.(Massaging your feet before going to sleep also improves the quality of your sleep).

It is the best kind of natural moisturizer and enriched with many healing properties thus olive oil helps to get rid of cracked heels as well as soft feet overnight. 

 

8.  Mustard Oil

Simply apply some mustard oil to your clean feet and do a quick massage then wear socks. Wash with warm water after an hour. Do this regularly to heal the cracked and painful heels.

Mustard oil is well known for its healing and moisturizing properties and keeps your feet warm, try this remedy in winters.

 

9.  Baking Soda Scrub

Mix some baking soda with water to make a paste and apply it on your dry and crakced feet after cleaning it and massage for 2 to 3 minutes and rinse well. Apply petroleum jelly or any deep moisturizing cream.

Baking soda is known for its cleaning and exfoliating properties and helps to clear out the dead skin very well but it’s necessary to apply deep moisturizing cream afterwards.

 

10.  Apple Cider Vinegar Foot Soak

Fill a pedicure tub with warm water then add around 2 cups of apple cider vinegar and soak your feet for 20 to 25 minutes and scrub off any dead skin or dirt with a manicure brush and rise well. Apply any moisturising lotion or cream afterwards.

Apple cider vinegar is enriched with mild acidic properties which help to soften the dry and dead skin making it easier to exfoliate. You can do this every week or so to get soft feet and repair cracked heels.

 

11.  Epsom Salt Soak

Fill a pedicure tub with warm water then add about 1 cup of Epsom salt and soak you feet for 20 to 25 minutes then scrub off any dead skin or dirt with a manicure brush and rise well, apply any moisturizer. Do this every week once or as required.

Epson salt helps to relief tiredness and also reduces any pain and soaking feet in warm water and scrubbing cleanse the feet very well.

 

12.  Foot Filer or Pumice Stone

Foot Filer is also an excellent home remedy for soft feet.

Fill the pedicure tub with warm water and soak your feet for 10 to 15 minutes ( add a tablespoon of salt you need relieve from feet aches ). Now rub your feet with the foot filer or pumice stone gently until you feel the skin softer and cleaner. Rinse with water and pat it dry with a clean towel and apply good amount a moisturizer.

Foot filer and pumice stone are great to remove the flecking dry skin and soaking feet makes it much easier and pain less (foot filer or pumice stones can bruise the skin if used roughly and carelessly).

 

13. Shea Butter for Deep Moisturising

Apply some organic shea butter over your feet after cleaning and drying with towel. Wear a pair of socks and leave it overnight. No need to wash it separately but so not step over dust with moist feet.

Shea butter is known for moisturizing and hydrating the skin really well and helps to heal all type of conditions caused by dryness and it’s vitamin A and E helps to nourish the skin thus a very effective overnight remedy for getting soft feet.

 

14. Tea Tree Oil Remedy

Mix a few drops of tea tree oil with vegetable oil or coconut oil then apply it to your clean feet and leave it over night. No need to cover if you have used a light oil or small amount of the oil mix.

Tea tree oil acts as natural anti-bacterial and also nourishes the feet but don’t apply tea tree oil directly without mixing with base oil and avoid any type of fragrant oil base.

 

15. Daily Feet Cleaning and Moisturising

Make it a habit to clean and moisturise you feet daily, any remedy or any treatment for cracked heels and soft feet will not leave a lasting effect if you don’t maintain the cleanliness and moisture level of you feet. Cleansing and moisturising is basic need of the skin, be it face or feet.

Healing period and effects will depend on the condition of severity and the effects will last only if you take care of yourself and your feet. There can be other medical reasons as well for cracked heels or dryness and it’s also a must to take proper healthy and nutritious diet and maintain a good health.
