What is Calcium Bentonite Clay?

One of my favorite organic healing clays to use for detoxifying and removing impurities from deep beneath my skin is the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. I love this healing clay because it is pure natural calcium bentonite clay and its Mother Earth’s best remedy for all sorts of skin problems such as acne, blackheads, blemishes, dark circles, and dry flaky skin as well as clogged pores.

What is Calcium Bentonite Clay?

Calcium bentonite clay is ground volcanic ash that contains minerals and a high alkaline ph, which is needed by the skin to help purify, nourish and balance out the ph levels in our skin so our skin can be clear, healthy, soft and glowing. Not only does this clay help purify, nourish and balance out the ph levels in the skin, but it also improves circulation within the skin so it is able to get the right amount of oxygen and blood flow to it to fight signs of aging so it can be youthful longer.

Texture, Color and Appearance of Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay comes in a one-pound plastic container, which is good for making about two dozen small batches of facial masks to cleanse, purify and nourish the skin. The clay itself is a dried bluish gray fine powder that is very soft and odorless. However, when you add a liquid to the clay powder it becomes like a smooth silky mud mask similar to the Queen Helen Mud Pack Masque you would get at the drugstore. However, the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay would have a deep grayish color when a liquid is added and take on the smell of the liquid you put into to make it a creamy facial mask.

Using the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

When I use the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay, I take three tablespoons of the fine powdery clay from the jar and place it into a small glass bowl.

Then I mix the clay with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a teaspoon of aloe juice using a plastic spoon until I get a smooth creamy thick deep gray facial mask. I like to make this clay mask thick because if find it sticks to my face and skin better this way. I enjoy using apple cider vinegar to make my facial masks because it helps dissolve the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay well and provides nourishment to my skin. I love using the aloe juice to make my facial mask because I find it very soothing to my skin, but in all honesty you can use whatever liquids you prefer to make your facial mask using this clay powder. Some of the best liquids to use are green tea, peppermint tea, citrus juices, grape juice, and coffee and cucumber juice.

Other Uses for Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

Not only can Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay make a great soothing facial mask, but I also love making a detoxifying warm bath using the clay to detoxify my entire body and skin from heavy metals, toxins and chemicals. My favorite way to make a bath using this clay is by filling my bathtub up with plenty of warm water that is comfortable to touch, yet hot enough to make me sweat the toxins out of my body and mixing in one cup of the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. Then, I add in a forth cup of dried lavender flowers to help give the bath a lovely relaxing lavender aroma to calm the mind, body and spirit. After, I get into the bath and soak for about an hour too really help detoxify my body and skin well. However, after my bath I do make sure I rinse off my body and skin well with cool water to help rinse off any toxins or clay left on my skin.

Another way I have used the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay is for making a cooling mudpack for beestings and mosquito bites. The way I make the cooling mud pack is by take a cup of the healing clay and mixing it with a fourth cup of ice-cold water in a glass bowl using a plastic spoon until I get a very thick wet grayish mixture. Then I apply the pack to the stung or bitten area and leave it on for about twenty minutes to help soothe the area from anything stinging, burning or itching sensations. After, I rinse the area off, apply a topical ointment and allow the infected area to heal.
