If you are struggling to lose weight despite all efforts, it's possible you are doing it all wrong. We have enlisted 9 reasons why you are not losing weight.

You have done everything possible for you to lose weight in record time. You exercise regularly, you are watchful about what you are eating, you are drinking plenty of water and you have adjusted yourself to a healthy lifestyle. After all the efforts and hard work, you are struggling to lose your body weight. If you think that eating less and sleeping less are going to help you, you are doing it all wrong. If you are clueless about what is actually keeping you from shedding those extra pounds, here are some of the possible reasons:

9 Reasons you are Not Losing Weight

1. You are skipping your meals

It is the most common food myth that by eating less, you will put on lesser weight. For proper metabolism, you need to eat sufficient amount of food. This helps in breaking down the good faster, improve digestion and speed up the calorie burning process.

2. You prefer diet food

These foods increase sugar cravings. Moreover, they contain hidden calories and have huge fat content which interferes with the weight loss process. Instead you can opt for super foods such as pine nuts, water apples , honey etc which are so healthy and are one of the best natural options for weight loss.

3.  You are not getting sufficient sleep

Staying awake stimulates the release of hunger hormones which increases appetite. This results in weight gain. Insomnia is one of the most common reasons why you are not losing weight. There are many ways to cure insomnia and taking chamomile tea is one among them. You can get sleep by drinking chamomile tea just before bed or multiple times during day.

4. Your protein intake is inadequate

Protein reduces sugar cravings and boosts metabolism which helps in losing weight fast. Protein deficiency results in weight gain.

5. You are not drinking enough water

Without sufficient water intake, the body cannot convert fats into energy. Water also helps in flushing out harmful toxins, wastes and fats from the body and promotes weight loss. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water and plenty of other fluids like coconut water, fruit juice or detox drinks to lose weight in a healthy and effective way.

6. You are suffering from hypothyroidism

When the thyroid gland becomes underactive, it cannot release enough fat-burning hormones and the fats keep accumulating. This is one of the most common reasons why you might not be losing weight. If you are not sure if you have any thyroid disorder, a simple blood test can be helpful.

7. You are on medication

Certain prescription drugs have side effects like weight gain. E.g. anti-depressants, oral contraceptives, medications for high blood pressure, diabetes, seizures, etc. If you feel that your medication is making it difficult to lose weight, you should talk to your doctor if it can be changed.

8. You are dependent on too much fruits and their juices

While fruits contain many essential nutrients to fulfill the requirement of the body, they do not contain sufficient amount of dietary fiber and protein which keeps you satiated for a long time and are essential for metabolism. Moreover, most of them can be easily swallowed without requiring any chewing that releases saliva to promote digestion. Most of the fruits contain high levels of calories that result in weight gain.

9. You are not doing varying exercises

Repeating the same set of exercises creates resistance and the body reaches a level where it is no longer responsive to workouts. Therefore, it is important to do varying exercises with different intensity. Also add cardiac workouts to your regimen.

Unfortunately, it's so true about diet foods. They are helping with weight gain instead of weight loss.

Diet foods are very dangerous for the human body. They are pumped with chemicals extracted from farmed animals like cows. In most cases diet foods are bad in general but if you are vegetarian or vegan they are extra bad for you because you are not supposed to eat animals to begin with. Eating diet foods not only is bad for your health but also impacts your Karma negatively for those who believe in it. People often get this part wrong...because the media love twisting this information. Not all fat is bad for your body. Animal fat is extra detrimental to your body because unlike vegetable fat is doesn't get absorbed and used up as quickly by the body. If you are having trouble loosing fat you are eating too much meat and are not eating enough vegetable protein like spinach, tofu, beans etc...
